Biographical Info:

Born and raised in Arizona, graduate of Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, Arizona. Tim enlisted in the United States Army in 2009 and served in Afghanistan in 2012. He attended Notre Dame Law School using the Post 9/11 GI Bill and then joined the United States Navy as a JAGC Attorney. He practiced criminal defense law and then began working as an operational law attorney, primarily focused on human rights law in Africa, where he helped develop respect for the rule of law, ethics programs and sexual harassment prevention programs, and respect for civilian authority and free elections. He left active duty in 2022 and earned a Master’s in National Security Law from Georgetown University Law Center and currently serves as a board member for the Phoenix-based non-profit VetsForward. He continues to serve as an officer in the US Naval Reserve.

Statement:

I have spent my life trying to defend democracy around the world as a member of the US military, but now our democracy at home needs defending from politicians who would rather try and pick who gets to vote rather than try reaching out and engaging their neighbors in thoughtful discussion. In an age where foreign adversaries seek to sow division in our country and our own politicians seek to exploit that division rather than try and create unity, I think it’s critical we choose someone we can trust to run our elections.
