Jennifer is a born and raised Tucsonan. The love of the Southwest started with her grandfather who owned and operated Pantano Stables on the East side. The affection for Tucson has only grown to include multiple generations! Her parents made the careful decision to raise their family in Catalina Foothills due to its great reputation and having one of the best school districts in Arizona. CFSD is where Jennifer began her educational journey and she now shares that with her own family. She is grateful for having grown up in this community.

Jennifer successfully completed her K-12 education in the Catalina Foothills School District, attended the University of Arizona, and married her high school sweetheart. At the age of 24, she founded a local medical spa that was family owned and operated for 8 years. They sold their business to another local family still operating it to this day. She went on to follow in her father’s footsteps, Kelly Hand, and started another business. She became a local realtor and has been working in the industry since 2015. Her real estate business has now expanded to include her mother who has recently joined her team. Family inclusion is clearly an essential part of Jennifer’s life.

Jennifer and Blaine have two beautiful daughters who have also had the pleasure of growing up in some of the same neighborhoods she called home as a child. Their oldest daughter graduated with honors from Catalina Foothills High School last year. What a wonderful tradition this family has started, with the hopes of her kids choosing to live, work, and contribute to this wonderful community as well.

Through the many years of owning and operating her own businesses, Jennifer believes the qualities and values she has gained will be a positive contribution to the CFSD school board. She hopes to use her familiarity with Catalina Foothills to further the quality of this district’s education and experience for teachers, students, staff, and parents.

Statement:

I am running for Catalina Foothills District 16 governing board because I would like to actively participate in shaping our district’s educational landscape and contribute to the well-being and future success of our students. My focus is on raising student achievement in our math and science departments, fostering strong partnerships with parents, and ensuring the safety of our schools for all students, staff, and teachers. As a community, we can create an environment where every student excels academically, parents are engaged and heard, and our schools are secure and welcoming. We need to work together to make a tangible difference in the lives of our students and families.
