Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Interpreting the 2nd Amendment as protecting an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. S* I strongly support our 2nd amendment and also object to excessive firearm regulations.
2. Adding “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” or “gender expression” to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination law. O
3. Amending the Arizona State Constitution to grant a fundamental right to every individual to an abortion. O* I support women's health. I also support the right of privacy between a patient and her medical providers.
4. Securing the border by preventing all illegal crossings. S* AZ should emulate Texas activities in helping the United States protect our southern border.
5. Using taxpayer funds to support any organization that performs, promotes, or provides referrals for abortion. O
6. Allowing all parents to use tax credits and taxpayer funded empowerment scholarship accounts to enable their children to attend any private school, homeschool, or online academy of their choice. −* ESA has only recently been approved and enacted. I am proud to be the candidate who uses logic and reason to support my views. I have two kids being educated in AZ and have “skin” in the quality of education available to our kids, our next generation of leaders. I firmly believe that improved education would greatly benefit AZ by increasing the number of higher paying jobs and reducing crime. I know administrating ESA has issues which must be addressed ASAP. Clarifications are needed to identify specifics of utilizing the existing income tax credits and ESA options. Currently, insufficient data exists on the impact of ESA towards improving education, even with AZ being a leading state in ESA for all, regardless of financial need. As such, I need to wait a year or two to analyze data that would provide evidence supporting my opinion that ESA is obtaining its goals. ESA is a complicated issue with moving parts during its initial years. The ESA concept can provide precedence to other taxpayer directed funding too which should be explored. I separate school choice and school funding. I support parents being allowed to choose the school (be it private, charter, public, or home) best suited for their child, regardless of the student's address. Each school choice can be funded in many ways. I will support the funding methods that result in a win-win-win for AZ financially, parents’ desires, and our kids’ educational needs.
7. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide. O* I support easing the pain of a terminal patient, and hospice care.No patient should be required to stay connected to life support machines, against the patient's choice.
8. Allowing parents to seek professional counseling for their minor child with same-sex attraction or gender identity issues. S
9. Permitting individuals and businesses to not provide services or promote ideas that violate their moral or religious beliefs. S
10. Keeping the flat income tax rate in Arizona’s state tax code. S
11. Requiring any government entity, including schools, to inform parents about their child’s physical, emotional, or mental health. S* An informed parent can quicken treatment, leading to improved health for the child.
12. Enhancing penalties for the sale and possession of fentanyl. S
